Ingredients:
| 3 cups | Unbleached All Purpose Flour |
| 3 Tbsp | Firmly Packed Brown Sugar |
| 1 Tbsp | Baking Powder |
| 1½ tsp | Salt |
| 1 bottle | Dark Beer, at room temperature |
| 2 Tbsp | Unsalted Butter, melted |
| Extra Butter, for greasing pan |
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 9 X 5 loaf pan. Stir together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Open the beer and add all at once. The beer will foam up. Stir briskly, just until combined, 20-25 strokes. Do not over mix this bread. The batter should look slightly lumpy. Pour into the prepared loaf pan. Drizzle the melted butter over the batter. Bake until the top is crusty and a cake tester or knife inserted into the center comes out clean, 35-40 minutes. Let the bread rest in the pan for 5 minutes, then turn it out onto a rack. This bread should only be served on the day it’s made, because a day later, it will start crumbling apart. Cut into thick slices and serve with butter
