I have a BIL and SIL who live in SoCal.  BIL moved there 20 years ago (said he had SAD) but just recently returned East and is going on job interviews.  Go figure.  LOL, we Easterners mark winters by types/ amounts of snow we get.  We like to b!tch about snow but really it makes us feel (well, some of us) like we can survive and handle anything ol' Mother Nature throws at us.  We even get earthquakes here, too, although probably not as many as in CA.

I would rather take my chances with the earthquakes rather than tornadoes or hurricanes. Ever since I was a kid I have heard how "the big one" is coming. I'm still waiting...
