It's looking very fall-like. They claim that New England has some of the best foliage in the world. In northern New England peak is usually early October. Where I am peak is mid-late October, so just heading into it right now. For some reason, the trees I can see from my balcony are still mostly green. But it's patchy, because 1 mile down the road there is hardly any green left. I think that the remaining green is going to turn real fast in the next 10 days or so. By Halloween all that's left is a few dead leaves that haven't fallen yet. The grass is still pretty green too. But we haven't really had any cold weather yet and there has been plenty of rain. The grass will probably stop growing and turn brown around Haloween, maybe a little later.

I don't have any personal pics, but here's a few that are typical of New England.

Lots of leaves on the ground, very fall-like.

A little before peak. In 3 or 4 days it will look better.

This is a picture of Killington, VT from a few days ago. The bottom of the mountain is at extreme peak foliage, the top is coverd in ice and snow. This was probably on a cold morning, it's way to early for snow, and all that ice and snow will melt. Even at the high elevations of VT, the snow won't really start accumulating until Thanksgiving.
